Lundi dernier, la maison Dior présentait, au palais Badii à Marrakech, sa nouvelle collection « croisière 2020 ». Derrière le décor féérique dévoilé pour l’occasion, des artisanes Marocaines au savoir-faire ancestral.

La maison Dior a organisé, le 29 avril, son défilé croisière 2020 au palais Badii à Marrakech en présence de plusieurs célébrités venues des quatre coins du monde.

Présentée par la créatrice italienne Maria Grazia Chiuri, la collection a été dévoilée dans une mise en scène spectaculaire rendant hommage au savoir-faire africain.

Derrière ce décor de rêve, se cache en réalité une pléiade d’artisanes Marocaines de l’association Sumano qui a pour but de promouvoir les traditions artisanales

This veritable work of art is based on six specially-made handwoven and hand-painted panels made by the Moroccan craftswomen of @Sumano.co. The association aims to perpetuate and promote endangered women’s craft traditions in Morocco’s mountainous Anti-Atlas region, helping sustain rural villages through the creation of employment and the reinvestment of profits in local communities. La prestigieuse maison de couture française a en effet confié à ces artisanes la confection de coussins en laine ornés de motifs berbères conçus pour accueillir les invités mais aussi des assiettes en céramiques peintes ayant servi à la scénographie du dîner.

Ce n’est pas tout. Ces femmes ont également contribué au défilé avec un manteau entièrement tissé et peint à la main.
